Hi!
I’m Kamila Solihin, a Licensed Counsellor (KB11673, PA11286) practicing in Kuala Lumpur. I am also the Founder and Editor in Chief of Unfold, a print and digital publication that spells out the quiet and complex inner world of women — the first issue is set to publish in December 2025.
Before entering the field of psychotherapy, I spent my early career in business education and consulting, where I cultivated a strong analytical and human-centred approach to understanding human behaviour. I am currently deepening my psychotherapy practice through training in Humanistic and Psychodynamic Therapy, which centres my client’s agency, focuses on bringing to awareness one’s unconscious drives, and fosters a collaborative, yet self-directed therapeutic process. I fully believe that we are all the expert of our own lives — it just takes a bit of guidance, support, and courage to take the action needed.
I hold a Master’s in Professional Counselling from Monash University Malaysia and a Bachelor’s in International Studies from Ewha Womans University 🌸 🇰🇷. I also have a certificate in Family Systems and Trauma.
As a Third Culture Kid myself (I grew up in Italy 🇮🇹 and Vietnam 🇻🇳), I am especially attuned to the unique experiences of globally mobile communities. To all the international students out there, workers from abroad, parents of international students, I’m here to support you through life transitions and adjusting to living in Malaysia 🇲🇾
Outside of work…
I read, read, read, do some pilates, cafe-hop, cook and travel with my husband, carve out some creative time for my magazine, and watch WNBA highlights 🏀.
